Project: Ratinaud French Cuisine Menu Design
Client: Ratinaud French Cuisine, Halifax
2018

Design Brief: Ratinaud French Cuisine, situated in the downtown waterfront area, sought a change from its existing menu with a black background, large white fonts, and prominent pictures. The owner, inspired by upscale restaurants sans images, desired a menu without pictures.
Results: Considering the restaurant’s French cuisine offering and the elegance of the old English town setting, I suggested a soft brown color to exude sophistication and an aged ambiance. To compensate for the lack of images, I incorporated user interface (UI) elements into the menu. This thoughtful addition simplifies the navigation process, aiding patrons in easily finding their desired items. Given the younger clientele of this old French restaurant, UI elements serve as an intuitive guide for each section.
