2026 Ottawa Doors Open Day: Citywalk Route Plan

Posted by

This plan is for everyone who loves a good Citywalk. I hope that on June 6, you all enjoy the chance to step behind the doors of Ottawa’s most mysterious and beautiful landmarks!

2026 Ottawa Doors Open Day: Citywalk Route Plan

Start/End Point: Supreme Court of Canada (301 Wellington St).

Parking Tip: The Supreme Court parking lot is free on weekends, but spots are extremely limited. It is highly recommended to arrive early (before 10:00 AM) to secure a spot. If full, you can find paid parking at the nearby Library and Archives Canada or along Sparks Street.

Start Time: 10:00 AM

Estimated Intensity: The straight-line distance is about 10km, but with building tours and detours, expect to walk 15km. Please allow 5–6 hours for the full experience. Wear your best walking shoes – your step counter is going to love you today!

Self-Guided Itinerary

This plan is designed as a self-guided tour. Feel free to grab a few friends and head out whenever suits you best. There is no formal meeting point or large group to follow—you are the master of your own pace!

Since this is a loop route, you can start at any point on the list or skip buildings based on your interests. We recommend small groups of 2–4 people (carpooling or walking) for the best efficiency when entering and touring the buildings.
